I learned about Unix in 1994, as Linux Universe. Then I used Red Hat. In 2000, I found FreeBSD. I have a network between my desktop and notebook, with firewall, Apache+PHP+Java Servlets and MySQL.

I found Unix very stable, configurable and extensible system, that fits for servers and sometimes for workstations. It takes a lot of time to learn it, but once you are skilled, the work goes fast.

However, computers and IT exist only for business and not for themselves. It is not efficient to use Unix everywhere, because it doesn't seem friendly to end users and beginners.
